La Vie Aesthetics - SparkleSmile Teeth (Teeth Whitening)

Not to lie but I've always thought that I have quite a bad discoloured teeth,

due to daily coffee intake, tobacco, lots of chilli and curry, etc. & it made my teeth really..ew.

I have had braces before, imagine how I used to had a set of almost perfect teeth, but as I grow older, I really care less, & this made me smile less too.. It's was pretty sad.

Recently, La Vie Aesthetics Singapore contacted me & of course I was thrilled that I might finally be able to smile properly again!

La Vie Aesthetics is located in Orchard Gateway, what a great location for everyone to travel to.

To start off, they invited me in with a cup of water/tea.. (good service makes people happy!)

We went into the consultation room where the consultant ask me a few questions and went through what we will doing for the SparkleSmile teeth whitening treatment..

From that, I learn that the whitening gel they use are non-peroxide (gentle to the teeth)

- other places they use gel with peroxide, that is a lot stronger, and it also harms the teeth causing it to be sensitive.

- also, it's a non-invasive treatment, with no heat/needles/drilling during the procedure, purely just gel & light, that made me feel even more comfortable. I definitely don't want to be under any pain!

They will be utilising a blue LED teeth whitening technology that activates the gel that helps whiten the teeth and remove any stains/discolourations. and I read on their site that you can experience up to 8 shades lighter in just 1 session! what??!? I'm even more excited.

After going through the process, the consultant then note down my current shade of both my upper and lower teeth for the front center and sides..

Hey it's not that bad in real life, it just look really bad because of the white base/background!!

Alright, moving on to the treatment... (p.s.: unglam pictures ahead!)

First up, The consultant brought me to the treatment room (it's a pretty small room).

I had to brush my teeth first to get rid of all my breakfast I had before the treatment.. (:

She then applied some vaseline on my lips just to keep them moist because I will need to wear the mouth guard (it prevents my dry lips from tearing i guess..)

Ohyes, the goggles/shades, to protect my eyes from the glaring LED light later on...

I actually love it eh.. It looks like a great accessory for a cool outfit.

Nothing fancy, it was just a normal day having a mouth guard in me mouth..

She then applied gum protector to prevent the whitening gel from hurting them..
(apparently there will be some chemical reaction when the blue LED comes together with the gel.. hmm.. I think. haha! ohwell, better be safe then sorry!)

15mins under the blue LED light..

My consultant went ahead to remove the gel with a cotton bud & repeat the procedure once more..
after removing the gel > add new gel > 15mins under the LED light..

after 2 rounds, she removed the gel and the gum protector (ohyeah, when she removed the gum protector.... it was so satisfying just by watching it! I don't know how to explain..)

After the treatment, I brushed my teeth once more to get rid of any leftover gel..
I then went back into the consultation room & she 'measured' the shade of my teeth after the procedure and OH..MY..GOSH..
they all decreased! oh I meant became lighter..
My front set of teeth actually decreased by 8 shades!
I'm truly amazed..

This is the comparison side by side, it's not huge, but it's definitely an improvement in just 1 session..

Can't wait for my next session already, hopefully I will have pearly white teeth soon!

Ohyes, because the gel it's non-peroxide and does not harm your teeth (compared to the ones you get with peroxide that cause you teeth to be really sensitive), you're able to go back in a few weeks to further whiten and afterward maintenance, helps to get SparkleSmile teeth even sooner!

259 CORNER; Fusion Café Bar

Yesterday I went out to have dinner with my BFFs at 259 Corner Café!

Previously I went there before with J & Family to celebrate Mother's Day as well!

I had a great experience there, so here I'm going to share with you guys my experience from yesterday, and snippets of the food we ate!

259 Corner Café is a Fusion Café/Bar where they serve food great home-cooked food, western food, and drinks!

"Taste the 2 different chicken cuisine when East meets with the West at 259 CORNER."

Love the framed photos on the wall, & the furnishing from old school signage to modern outlook.

We didn't order booze, as I wasn't feeling well, so we drank Snapple and this Grass Jelly Drink that JY said it was good!

Ohyes, talking about boozes, They have promotion on their beers:

Sapporo bottled beer, 5x for $30 only

Tiger bottled beer, 5x for $25 only (with purchase of any meal above $50)

So for starters, we have mushroom soup,

who doesn't love a bowl of hot steaming soup?!

This Mushroom soup was sweet and creamy, with a generous portion of mushroom!

Herbs & Spices Chicken wings, their signature dish.

It has a unique taste to it, that I have never tasted before,

the sauce was still dripping from the skin! and the meat was soft and nice.

Curry Chicken Rice with Bread,

259 Corner's speciality!

"The curry chicken recipe inherited from owner grandma since 1960s, Grandma learnt the recipe from a Peranakan family."

& this dish was our favourite from the meal we had!

The meat was so soft,

the spice level was just right for me,

but it was a little spicy for Charm & JY (who doesn't take spicy at all)

But surprisingly they still eat it, & said it was their favourite!

JY love the bread and curry combination the most!

Seafood Aglio Olio, comes with clams and prawns,

it was a disappointment for this though,

the paste texture was ok, not dry or what,

but it is not as savoury as the other aglio olio I had elsewhere,

I am a great fan of aglio olio,

but nope, I did not fancy this dish as much.

but the plus point for this is that the prawn is so nice that Charm ate it all!

So I don't know if I have said this before or not, but I have never liked prawns,

I'm not allergic to them, I just don't fancy it at all, so I just stayed away from it.

but I really like crayfish and lobsters!

The next dish was a prawn dish, there I would not eat,

however, when I saw the presentation, and how it's garnished with garlic etc.,

I just feel like taking a bite!

I ate one, & it tasted like crayfish/lobster!

yummz!

not forgetting the mash potato that Charm fell in love with,

it was soft & smooth!

Grilled Chicken!

Love the fries, not a big fan of the chicken though, the chicken itself is nice but it was a little bland, but dipping it with the lemon-black pepper-mushroom sauce helped a lot!

the skin was crispy!

Egg Benedict accompanied with a slice of thick pancake (with cream cheese inside),

topping it off with slices of smoked salmon & drizzled with yogurt sauce.

Don't know if its all-day breakfast or dessert! haha

Had a great meal at 259 Corner!

Definitely a great hang out 'corner' with friends & family!

Let me share my experience shopping through ezbuy!
Honestly at first I didn't know what Prime was, so I just went ahead to do my normal shopping on taobao via Ezbuy, but then I can't really get the 'Prime' to work.
Only after that when I asked, then I realise that I was only able to use my Prime Membership only on the Prime page.
At first I was really upset, because it was really difficult to find the items I want, but I just kept exploring and really the search bar was quite helpful.
So I managed to get a lot of items, and I fell in love the boots when I saw it, I knew I needed to get it. but shoes are usually very expensive because of the weight and all, and sometimes you would also have to request for them to send it over without the shoe box (for lighter weight, and did not need to pay extra for the shipping fee), & in the end, when you receive your shoes (w/o the shoebox) it will either be 'disfigured', there will have scratches, or all the movement/tension might cause the shoe to spoil. So me really wanting the boots to come in its best form, I didn't request to remove the box!

Last week I just did my lash extensions at Blanc Lash Salon!

I have sparse lashes that are barely there, I always have to spam many coats of mascara to have the lashes I want, and it's pretty saddening.

Not only that, my lashes always droops down like the Snuffy the elephant from Sesame Street!

Eyelash Extension by Blanc

Last week, I finally got the chance to fix my 'barely-there' lashes at Blanc Eyelash Salon!

Blanc Lash is a Japanese Lash salon that uses presium synthetic fibre that looks almost exactly the same as our natural lashes!

Whats great about these lashes is that they are very lightweight & strong! C'mon we wouldn't want the lashes to weigh/droop down & break ya? That's probably the last thing we want these to happen to us, or more like never ever want it to happen :/

The lashes are applied one by one onto our natural eyelashes, & that creates a very natural finish!

Blanc has more than 70 stores around the world, Japan, Hongkong, Thailand, Vietnam, etc. & they are finally in SINGAPORE!

The room was so cosy and the atmosphere there was just calming and peaceful with the perfect music made me doze off! 1.5hrs just pass so quickly and I didn't even realise I was doing my lash for 90mins!

BEFORE:

I always have to coat 3-4 coats of mascara to make my lashes look 'normal'

& removing them is hell..

AFTER:

very happy with the results!

yes this is my first time trying lash extensions, and I didn't feel any discomfort, bcos Blanc uses highly safe & medical certified eyelash adhesive!

*I do hear people saying that they have eyes irritation or allergy reaction after having their lashes done! But thank god I didn't have to suffer those shit!

& now I get to skip the 3-4 coats of mascara and my lashes still looks amazing!

*I don't even use mascara anymore! it's that good*

Back to last few months when my sch hours were killing me..
9am - 6pm classes :/

Had a hair cut and went for a slightly darker tone @ J7Image.

by far the shortest I've ever went, don't think I'll be going any shorter.

but I love it!

people always think that when one has short hair, there isn't much hair styles one can opt for.

but let me show you the different hair styles I can do with this hair below as I go along with this post!

my nerdy hair that I love very much, I won't have to care much, cos my hair will stay in place especially when i go school, I don't have the time to look in the mirror all the time, & as my hair is tucked behind my ear, it would not block my vision while i'm sewing or just doing work!
